ABOUT BRITISH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE VIETNAM (BRITCHAM VIETNAM)

BritCham Vietnam represents British businesses in Vietnam and promotes value added links between its members as well as with its external stakeholders, which include the British community in Vietnam, the British government, the local community, other businesses in Vietnam and the Vietnamese government.

BritCham Vietnam is looking for a temporary, part-time Executive Director for a period of 6 months initially, but with scope for extension depending on the candidate and future organisational structure.

This is a transitional role, further developing the chamber for the future. The focus of the Executive Director’s role will be on:

• Organisational change and processes to ensure BritCham is ready for post-Covid operations;
• Representing BritCham with VBF, and the governments of Vietnam and the UK;
• Regular liaison with the Department of International Trade on current trade projects;
• Speaking on behalf of BritCham to fellow Chambers and organisations in Asia as well as in Vietnam;
• Event planning and operation, virtual as well as in person when conditions permit, including signature charity events;
• Writing content and communications and maintaining a uniform tone across our platforms; and
• Working closely with stakeholders including Board Members, committees’ representatives, NGOs, etc.

This is a part-time role, with the days commitment to be agreed with the Board.

The appointment is open to candidates who are currently resident in Vietnam only.  The appointment is conditional on the granting of a work permit or evidence that the candidate has a valid work permit exemption.

This position suits a natural networker who is able to provide vision, communicate complex matters in a simple way and listen closely to its stakeholders.  The Executive Director would, preferably, be based in HCMC.

Salary: USD 5,000 gross monthly (pro-rata thereof).
