The National Assembly approved the UK’s accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), making it the first European member to join. This decision was made during the seventh session of the 15th National Assembly.
The UK’s recognition of Viet Nam’s market economy status is also significant, aiding Viet Nam’s efforts to gain similar recognition from other countries.
Viet Nam is among the first CPTPP countries to ratify the protocol. So far, three CPTPP members, including Singapore, Japan, and Chile, have announced the completion of their domestic procedures.
