On 22 September, British Ambassador to VietNam, Gareth Ward had a meeting with Viet Nam’s Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Tran Hong Ha prior to the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26). Accordingly, the Viet Nam’s delegation, led by Prime Minister PhamMinh Chinh will join COP26 in Glasgow this November, as per the invitation of the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
COP26 is an important event, marking the official implementation of the Paris Agreement, starting from 2021. As the President of COP26, the UK is committed to promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation to strengthen the capacity to address challenges posed by climate change in countries around the world, including Viet Nam.
