PM PHAM MINH CHINH MET FDI COMPANIES
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recently held a second meeting with FDI enterprises within six months, reiterating the government’s commitment to consistent policies and guidelines for foreign businesses. During the conference in Hanoi on 16th October, the Prime Minister affirmed three key commitments to foreign investors: safeguarding investors’ rights, supporting their stability and growth, and ensuring a fair and transparent business environment. Government leaders also engaged with VBF, chambers, and FDI representatives, addressing the IFC project and seeking support from banks, FDI entities, and think tank organisations.
As a member of Prime Minister’s Advisory Council on Administrative Procedure Reform (ACAPR), BritCham attended the 2nd assessment conference chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Trần Lưu Quang. The conference focused on assessing the implementation of administrative procedure reforms in public service delivery and discussing areas for improvement, especially in digitalization and simplification of procedures, with a continued emphasis on enhancing the satisfaction of citizens and businesses. While significant progress has been made in amending policies and regulations, there are still challenges to be addressed, including maintaining the quality of administrative procedures, reducing unnecessary bureaucracy, and ensuring the efficient use of online platforms for handling administrative tasks.

The new Law on E-Transactions will take effect on 1 July 2024 (2023 Law on E-Transactions). In this Legal Update, we will discuss several remarkable changes in comparison to the Current Law.
