UNILEVER – IMPROVING THE PLANET HEALTH FOR A MORE SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS AND FUTURE
Unilever has set out and driven a range of commitments and actions to fight climate change, protect and regenerate nature, and preserve resources for future generations in Vietnam.

The business strives to drive net-zero emissions in their operations and value chain through utilizing renewable resources, building green facilities, and collaborating with partners on net-zero solutions. Unilever Vietnam has achieved carbon neutrality since 2021 and closely worked with more than 200 suppliers and partners to reduce carbon emissions in their upstream and downstream activities. Planting trees is an initiative Unilever focuses on for nature regeneration and positive carbon contribution. The company has currently planted 380,000 trees with 60,000 seed balls sown in 19 cities and provinces nationwide, and 9 national parks; and just kicked off their 250,000-tree planting campaign of 2023.

For a waste-free world, the business pioneers in circular economy in plastic waste management through Public-Private Collaboration with MONRE, and purposeful partnerships with partners and recyclers. Their collaborative projects have got 20,000 tonnes of plastic waste segregated and collected to facility the recycling process afterwards. The partnership with Duy Tan Recycling also opens a new ambition of 30,000 tonnes of plastic waste to be collected and recycled by 2027. Besides, Unilever Vietnam itself also focuses on developing sustainable packaging with 73 per cent packaging recyclability, and 82 per cent plastic reduction through absolute reduction and PCR inclusion.
