    BRITCHAM ADVOCACY

    In December, BritCham invited members to contribute feedback on the Draft Circular guiding the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for product and packaging recycling. Issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE), the draft aims to strengthen consistency and effectiveness in enforcing EPR obligations for manufacturers and importers. Member inputs were consolidated and submitted through the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF), reinforcing the business community’s role in supporting practical and effective regulatory implementation.

    LEGAL UPDATES

    Vietnam Strengthens Data Protection Framework under New Implementing Decree

    To enhance personal data governance and align Vietnam’s regulatory framework with international data protection standards, the Government has issued Decree No. 356/2025/ND-CP, detailing the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Law. Effective as of January 1st, 2026, the Decree provides clearer compliance guidance for businesses, introduces more robust enforcement mechanisms, and establishes stricter requirements for the processing, transfer, and protection of personal data.

    Vietnam Economic Outlook November 2025: Resilience Amid Weather Disruptions and Strong Investment Flows

    November 2025 highlighted Vietnam’s economic resilience amid significant weather-related disruptions. Manufacturing and export activity remained steady, supporting a stable trade position, while strong FDI disbursements and rising credit demand signalled continued investor confidence. Although inflation edged up due to storm-driven food supply pressures, underlying fundamentals remained sound, with infrastructure development and high-tech investment reinforcing Vietnam’s growth outlook as the country closed out the year.
