BRITCHAM HOSTS VIETNAM-UK FINANCIAL SERVICES HIGH-LEVEL ROUNDTABLE IN HCMC

September was a pivotal month for UK-Vietnam relations, marked by high-level visits and strategic dialogues focused on developing an International Financial Centre (IFC) in Ho Chi Minh City.

A key highlight was the BCAC-led roundtable with the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. The event welcomed Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, together with UK financial experts to discuss foundational elements for the IFC, including legal frameworks, dispute resolution, and green finance.

This was complemented by BritCham’s Loseby Lecture, where The Right Honourable Lord Justice Richard Snowden explored the role of common law in fostering international commerce – a crucial aspect for the future IFC. These engagements have significantly strengthened bilateral cooperation and reinforced the UK’s commitment to supporting Vietnam’s economic ambitions.
