BRITCHAM MONTHLY NEWSLETTER_JUNE 2026

Date: 06/04/2026

Dear BritCham members, partners and friends,

May was a significant and high-impact month for BritCham Vietnam, marked by our new Board for 2026/27, high-level diplomatic advocacy, and vibrant community engagement.

We commenced the month with our Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026 on 7th May, where we successfully elected our new Board Members for the 2026/27 term. Later that same evening, we hosted a special member appreciation night, a truly memorable evening filled with exceptional food, fine wine, and meaningful conversations as we thanked our community for their enduring support.

On the advocacy front, BritCham joined high-level strategic dialogues in Hanoi on 13th May. The day commenced with a delegation working session with Mr Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission, during which BritCham Chairman, Mr Denzel Eades, delivered key recommendations on unlocking international capital. In the afternoon, Board Member Mr Chris Jeffery represented the British business community on the panel at the 6th Vietnam Connect Forum, sharing insights on six vital pillars to attract “New Generation FDI” and support the development of an International Financial Centre (IFC) in Vietnam.

Furthermore, BritCham collaborated with British University Vietnam (BUV) to host an exclusive luncheon at the British Ambassador’s Residence, and a high-profile British Education conference in partnership with King’s College School in Ho Chi Minh Opera House.

Building on these milestones, June brings a fresh wave of opportunities to drive collaborative connectivity across our network. This upcoming edition highlights a vibrant mix of exclusive after-work networking events and specialised masterclasses designed to keep our community’s momentum strong.

Vietnam’s economy maintained positive momentum in April 2026, supported by stronger FDI inflows, resilient investor confidence, and an upgraded GDP growth forecast of 6.8%.  However, rising energy costs, inflationary pressures, a persistent trade deficit, and slower than expected public investment disbursement continued to pose challenges to the country’s economic outlook.
