Following the UK Business Dialogue with Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on 28 June, we, are pleased to be able to provide the following update on the event.
–
This dialogue marked a significant milestone in the UK–Vietnam Strategic Partnership, reaffirming our shared commitment to sustainable, inclusive, and innovation-driven growth. BritCham welcomes the Prime Minister’s clear direction to strengthen economic connectivity, advance green and digital transitions, and promote cooperation across key sectors including education, healthcare, finance, and technology.

We fully support the Prime Minister’s call for the UK business community to work closely with Vietnam to achieve its development goals, maximise the benefits of the UKVFTA and CPTPP, and raise bilateral trade and UK investment in Vietnam beyond USD 10 billion in the coming years.
–
We are particularly supportive of the Prime Minister’s six breakthroughs mechanisms to foster increased collaboration, trade and investment between Vietnam and the UK.
–
These include:
– Deepening economic connectivity through practical, mutually beneficial partnerships.
– Advancing Industry 4.0 with innovation in science, technology, digital transformation, AI, and blockchain.
– Driving the green transition, supporting Vietnam’s net-zero commitment by 2050.
– Expanding collaboration in healthcare, education, culture, and sports, including making English a second language.
– Enhancing financial cooperation, especially in establishing international financial centres and free trade hubs.
– Integrating Vietnamese enterprises into global value chains and nurturing local technology unicorns.

Building on this important Dialogue we look forward to:

✅ Promoting an open, predictable, and business-friendly environment for UK companies to thrive in Vietnam.
