BCAC and BritCham Board leaders were invited to meet with Mr. Martin Kent, HM Trade Commissioner for Asia, during his visit to Hanoi for the Defence Expo. During the meeting, Mr. Kent highlighted two key points: (i) the success of British Tech Advisers in supporting British and UK-affiliated tech companies across the region, and (ii) the significant interest from British defence companies following the Defence Expo in December 2024.
Following the meeting, BritCham and the DBT team are in discussions to identify leading British companies in these sectors that may be interested in joining the chamber and contributing to the potential establishment of relevant working groups. We will also explore how UK Government initiatives and support for these strategic sectors can be leveraged to enhance chamber activities, such as the upcoming SE Asia Tech Week in March 2025.
