During JETCO 13 in Hanoi, and to enhance business relations between the UK and Vietnam, BritCham, the British Embassy, and MOIT jointly organised an exclusive UK-VN Business Forum. This forum offered a distinctive opportunity for high-ranking business leaders to engage with prominent executives from both nations. The event was graced by the attendance of Minister Huddleston, MOIT Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang, the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy, the British Ambassador to Vietnam, and the Chairpersons of both BritCham and VCCI, further highlighting its significance.

On 12th August, VCCI Chairman Pham Tan Cong and BritCham’s Chris Jeffery met to discuss cooperation. The two chambers aim to boost trade promotion and business support, aligning with the significant 50th anniversary of UK-Vietnam diplomatic ties. Initiatives include aiding VCCI’s business school, coordinating trade missions, and fostering high-level business discussions.

DECREE 19: GUIDELINES ON HOW TO PREVENT MONEY LAUNDERING

The Vietnamese National Assembly enacted a new Law on Anti-Money Laundering (2022 AML Law) that took effect in early 2023. In support of its implementation, Decree No. 19/2023/ND-CP was issued (Decree 19). Decree 19 supersedes Decree No. 116/2013/ND-CP (as amended and supplemented by Decree No. 87/2019/ND-CP) (Decree 116).
